CDs - Music Performance

How the CDs Described Here Came into Being

During the five years Dorothea lived in southwestern Oregon she had the good fortune to meet a very fine violinist who lives in Ashland. The two started collaborating and performed a number of concerts in the area including venues in Cave Junction, Talent, and Ashland and made CDs to celebrate and share their work together after several concerts.

Arlene Tayloe, M.M., violinist, holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied music from Northwestern University. She played professionally with symphonies in Dallas, Denver and San Jose and performed with opera companies such as the Chicago Lyric and Santa Fe Operas. More recently she has performed as participant and soloist with chamber orchestras in Colorado and New Mexico. After moving to Ashland, OR, six years ago, she found many new outlets for her music including the Rogue Valley Symphony, the North State Symphony in California, the Rogue Valley Opera, and the Rogue Valley Symphony Chamber Players who offer weekly performances in the public schools. She also enjoys playing chamber music with friends.

Dorothea Hover-Kramer, Ed.D., RN, pianist, is a musician by avocation rather than by her vocation which is as a psychologist and consultant. She actively played chamber music most of her life and performed many concerts with the Striano Piano quartet in San Diego for over 8 years before moving to Oregon and then Washington state. She participates each year in chamber music workshops as a selected pianist and plays music daily for relaxation and skill development.
